Congratulations to Frenship High School Boys Soccer Coach Eric Eugenis who was named the 2015 Male Coach of the Year by the Greater South Plains Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The announcement and recognition took place Monday night during the FCA’s annual Victory Banquet at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Eugenis, along with coaches Jimmy Curtis and Shannon Beeles, organize the weekly FCA meetings for Frenship High School students by scheduling special music and guest speakers. Meeting attendance has grown to an average of 125 students this year.
Eugenis is also instrumental in inviting Frenship students to FCA events throughout the year including FCA Game Day at Texas Tech, Fields of Faith, and FCA Sports Camp during the summer.
On the field, Eugenis led the Frenship boys’ soccer team to an outstanding 2015 qualifying for the state playoffs in the program’s first season in Class 6A. The highlight of the year was when Frenship beat Amarillo High 2-0, snapping the Sandies’ 54-game district winning streak.
