This prestigious award was designed to recognize Texas high school seniors for their outstanding academic achievements and the rewards of superior scholarship. Students were nominated by their high school principals based on their SAT or ACT scores, academic grade point average, pursuit of advanced diploma and other evidence of exceptional academic ability.
Sims was one of only twenty seniors from across the state chosen for this high honor.
Sims served as the 2018-2019 president for the FHS chapter of the National Honor Society. He was an AP Scholar with distinction, served on the FISD Advanced Academic Council as the student representative, played on the basketball team and was a member of the Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy.
As a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team, Sims will be awarded a $500 scholarship at the TASSP Summer Workshop in Austin on Thursday, June 13.
