FHS Powerlifters Set Personal Records at State Meet

Congratulations to the members of the Frenship girls’ powerlifting team who competed at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet in Waco on Saturday, March 18.

Megan Hartline set new personal bests in the back squat with a lift of 400 pounds, the dead lift with a pull of 370 pounds, and in her three lift total of 910 pounds.

Claire Currie scored a personal best in the dead lift with a pull of 320 pounds and also netted a new personal best of 725 pounds in her three lift total.

Bethany Broussard tied her personal best in the dead lift with a pull of 255 pounds. She also tied a personal best in her her three lift total with a combined lift of 575 pounds.

Hannah Tyson had a personal best in her dead lift with a pull of 315 pounds.

“It was a fantastic job this season for the girls,” said FHS Powerlifting Coach David Crume. “I am so proud of their hard work, effort, and accomplishments this season.  They did a great job and competed well.”

On the boys’ side, Anthony Lara will be lifting at the THSPA Boys State Meet this Saturday at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.
