FHS Powerlifters Push Weight, Earn Medals in Levelland

The Frenship Powerlifting team headed to Plainview to start their season last weekend and raised the bar high for what looks to be a successful 2018.

Anthony Lara placed first in the 123-lb weight class with a total lift of 865 pounds and Isaiah Williams was a winner in the 220-lb weight class with a lift of 1,425 pounds. Jeremiah Cope brought home second place in the Super Heavyweight class with a total combined lift of 1,555 pounds.

A total lift is the combined weight lifted in three events: bench press, squat, and dead lift.

On the girls’ side, Frenship’s Claire Currie won in the 148-lb weight class with a total lift of 845 pounds.
