FHS Choir Students Earn All-Region Honors

Congratulations to the 43 students from Frenship High School and the FHS Ninth Grade Center who competed at Texas Music Educators Association All-Region Auditions on Saturday, September 29.

Students were required to prepare five collegiate-level choral pieces as well as sight sing a melody they had never seen or heard prior to the competition. They were not told which of the five pieces they would be singing until Saturday’s contest.

Based on their outstanding scores, 19 FHS students were selected as members of the TMEA Region XVI Choir which will perform on November 3 at Coronado High School.

Seventeen of those students earned the honor of advancing to Pre-Area, the second round of auditions for All-State Choir. They will compete on November 8 for a chance at Area.

“We are extremely proud of all the hard work and extra time they put in to get ready,” said Amy Moss, FHS Choir Director.
