On a cold a dreary weekend where weather conditions were less than ideal, the Frenship golf team fought hard and found themselves on the medal stand again – this time in second place at the Amarillo Relay Golf Classic.
The Tigers shot a two-day total of 629 (310-319) and finished six shots behind champion Canyon Randall.
Freshman Brian Boles won his first tournament of the year with after a Saturday score of 74 and total socre of 151. Senior Tripp Wallace placed fifth with a score of 157 (75-82) and freshman Jayce Hargrove tied for eighth place with a 158 (79-79).
“It was great to see Brian win this weekend,” said FHS golf coach Dan McDoanld. “He kept his composure throughout the tournament despite the cold and wet conditions. He and fellow freshman Jayce Hargrove are playing really steady and they are going to be great players for us the next few years.”
Next up for the Tigers is the District 2-6A Tournament April 10-11 and the Diamondback Golf Course in Abilene.
