Congratulations to the Frenship Tiger Automotive program for winning the best overall team award at the New Mexico Junior College automotive competition Thursday in Hobbs. Frenship won the overall title against 10 other schools from three different states. Sixty-four students representing the 11 participating schools competed in the contest.
Individually, FHS took the top two spots with senior Jordan Hernandez the top overall individual and senior Lance Lee placing second.
As the overall winner, Hernandez received $1,300 in tools and equipment. Lee received $700 in tools as the runner-up.
Other team members who contributed to the team winning the competition included Zachary Williamson, Storey Muse, and Justin Shepard. The Auto Tech instructor at Frenship High School is Nick Comey.
