Congratulations to members of the Frenship FFA program for their recent success at the Area I Leadership Development Events held November 16-17 at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.
The FHS Chapter Conducting Team qualified for the state contest after winning the area contest. In the contest, teams conduct a mock chapter meeting to demonstrate knowledge of basic parliamentary law and the use of correct parliamentary procedures. At the conclusion of the meeting, team members are asked questions regarding parliamentary law.
Team members include Kendall Braune, Emily Stuart, Kameryn Slaton, Nikki Keaton, Kooper Bowen, Sam Woolard, Nathan Hitt, Megan Smith and Cailey Holman.
Frenship’s Antonio Munoz also won his event, the Spanish Creed contest. In the Creed contest, a member presents the FFA Creed from memory and answers questions about its meaning and purpose. This event is just one way to boost self-confidence, earn recognition, and develop powerful, organized and professional communication skills.
The FHS Radio Team consisting of members Austin Phillips, Whitney Connors and Erica Bickerstaff placed third at the Area I contest narrowly missing a state qualification as one of the top two teams. In this contest, a team of three members presents an informative radio program covering one or more agricultural subjects that is current in nature and local in content.
