Crestview Students Engage in Science Activity

Fourth grade students in Ms. Colville’s class at Crestview Elementary proved that science sometimes requires you to think outside of the box and work together to come up with a solution. Ms. Colville’s lesson taught collaboration and teamwork as students tried to save Fred the gummy worm.

Students were required to move Fred off the top of a cup, pick up a life jacket from under the cup, stuff Fred into the life jacket and then place him in his boat – all without touching him! Not only did this lesson teach them about science, it also taught them the value of teamwork and using each other’s strengths.

“It was absolutely fun to watch as they were highly engaged and working as teams,” said Stacy Davis, principal of Crestview Elementary.
