All Hail The Watermelon

This week, the Wolfforth Farm Fresh Market will be part of the West Texas Growers and Producers Association 2016 Watermelon Fest.

The certified local growers and producers of the WTGPA will bring their fresh picked watermelons to the corner of of Dowden (FM 179) and Main Street from 4-7pm today, along with the fresh picked produce, eggs, dairy, meat and baked goods straight from area farms.

Watermelons are a better source of lycopene than the tomato, offer muscle tension relief and are made of 91% water which make them a tasty way to re-hydrate. The watermelon growers of West Texas invite you to come pick up one or two and enjoy the last tastes of summer.

The WTGPA also runs the West End Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30 at the West End Center (2910 West Loop 289) and Watermelon Fest will continue through Saturday there.
