Bennett Elementary students and staff are once again making wishes come true. Bennett is committing to raise enough money to grant the wish of a child by partnering with Make-A-Wish North Texas. Two years ago the campus partnered with the local non-profit organization to grant the wish of Caleb who wished to go to Disney World.
The campus will be holding various fundraising opportunities to raise about $8,500 to grant the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition. The administration staff of the campus began the day dressed as the seven dwarfs and even took a field trip over to Central Office to start collecting money for their cause. The group could be heard sing “Hi Ho, Hi Ho It’s Make-A-Wish We Go” through the administration building’s hallways. The “dwarfs” made an appearance in every office to collect change to kick-start their campaign.
The Bennett students got in on the festivities as well. The students were allowed to dress like a Disney character today to get them excited about creating magical memories for one very deserving family. The campus will start Penny Wars the week of March 7-March 11 to help get them one step closer to achieving their monetary goal.
Make-A-Wish North Texas grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions here on the South Plains. All the money raised stays locally. The North Texas chapter grants more than 500 wishes annually across their 161 county territory.
