FHS Track Opens Season with Successful Tiger Relays

Awatt 2nd in high jump (1)The Frenship track teams sprinted out of the blocks to begin the season by hosting the best competition from around the West Texas region at the annual City Bank Relays in Wolfforth. Eleven girls teams and fifteen boys teams participated in the two-day event.

The FHS girls collected 94 team points on their way to a second-place team finish. Sarah Tackitt led the way with gold in the pole vault and bronze in the 100-meter hurdles. Cassandra Awatt found silver at the high jump mat, and Jaliyah Jackson found silver after the 400-meter dash. The 400-meter relay team also placed in second.

On the boys side, FHS placed in sixth as a team versus the 15-team field. Jacob Piel was a third-place finished in the shot put.
