With the Fall months quickly approaching, the Wolfforth Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to once again host its Annual Harvest Festival and Parade. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 3 along Main Street in Wolfforth. “Organizers were very pleased with the location change last year! Having the Festival just west of City Hall brings this event back to downtown and also makes the parade route much easier to facilitate.” says Terri Robinette, Director of Marketing. The 2015 Theme “Super Heroes: Here We Come To Save The Day” will be incorporated into the parade and Color Dash. This year’s parade will once again begin at People’s Bank Stadium on FM 179 and Donald Preston Drive. All parade entries need to be ready for line-up between 7am and 8:30am. The parade will leave the stadium at 9am, head south down FM 179 and turn west on Main Street (Loop 193). Parade ending will be in the area of Frenship Middle School and the FMS football field.
Vendors applications are currently being accepted and the deadline is September 25. The vendor area will be just west of City Hall. Non-profit, general merchandise and crafts and food vendors are all welcome. Vendors will be open from 9am to 2pm the day of the Festival.
All elementary age kids are invited to participate in this year’s Color Dash. The Color Dash takes the Festival’s classic fun run and adds a rainbow of color! The Color Dash will begin at 11am from the City Hall parking lot. Children will be divided into age and gender categories. The first race will be for Kindergarten and 1st grade girls. Each race thereafter through 5th graders will be on a rolling time schedule. The race will take place down Main Street to Cedar Ave then circle back to head towards City Hall. The finish line will be in the East bound lane of Main Street near Aspen Ave. Entry fee is $10 and all runners will receive a t-shirt prior to race day. Deadline to enter the Color Dash is Monday, September 21 by 3pm. Entries can be turned in to your Frenship Elementary PE Teacher or at Wolfforth City Hall.
Whitley Acres will once again provide a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy and bounce houses and obstacles will also keep the kids entertained throughout the day.
The Harvest Queen Scholarship program is a long-standing tradition in Wolfforth. All Frenship High School Senior girls are encouraged to apply. Queen candidates are required to complete an application, platform essay and also attend a judges interview. The crowning of the Queen will take place at 10:30am from the main stage area at the Festival. Look for your queen candidates as they ride through the parade on Wolfforth’s antique fire truck “Old Red.”

“The Harvest Festival is always a great day in Wolfforth! Its so fun to come out and see everybody, shop the vendor area and watch the kids play. We are looking forward to another great crowd this year and invite everybody to come enjoy the day!”
