Each year in March, the Wolfforth Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture hosts its Annual Awards Banquet to honor those who have shown outstanding service in the community. Due to Covid-19, the Banquet that was to be held on March 30th was cancelled. Following in-person school cancellation in the spring as well, the Chamber was finally able to present its 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year award this week to Ms Chelsea Brady from Upland Heights Elementary.
When asked about Ms Brady’s positive impact on students, Principal Denise Stewart shared the following, “Mrs. Brady is hands on, energetic, and engaging. Whatever it takes, she is willing to do. She sings, she dresses up, she involves the community, she plays games, whatever. She wants and gives her best every year. That is an expectation that she has for herself and her team. In her class, students set goals. She conferences with students and helps them to reach those goals. She has team/class goals and the students have individual goals. It is not uncommon to see students moving their name on a goal chart to represent their latest achievement and/or need. Mrs. Brady loves on her students and has a great relationship with all. That is huge! She makes sure that they are taken care of socially and loved on because that is how learning starts.”
Congratulations Ms Chelsea Brady! We appreciate your service to the students of our community and are thankful for the heart you have for all your kids!
