Two Frenship Photography Students Earn National Awards

Congratulations to Frenship High School students Katie Chaffin and Taylor Clanton for receiving national silver medals in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

Throughout the fall semester, students from across the United States and abroad have submitted more than 300,000 works of art and writing to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Of the more than 300,000 entries, only 17,000 entries, or about 6 percent, earned regional Gold Keys.  A regional Gold Key qualified a student and their entry for the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards awarded 2,200, the top 0.7 percent of entries to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, a National Gold or Silver Medals.  Below are the two winning pieces of work from Chaffin and Clanton:
