The Frenship baseball team put together two quality outings Saturday to come from behind and win the Bi-District championship last weekend versus El Paso Americas.
The Tigers dropped Friday’s series opener 3-0 and found themselves needing two wins Saturday to advance. FHS opened Saturday with a hot start and scored three runs in the first inning to take early control and win 9-4. The Tigers added crooked numbers in both the fifth and sixth innings to seal the win.
Mason Weathers was 3-4 with two doubles and two runs batted in. Landon Everett added a home run. Conley Green pitched a complete game to earn the victory.
In the series finale, Bradden Kennard pitched a complete-game and only gave up one run on six hits to lead FHS to a 6-1 win. The Tigers played with the lead the entire game thanks to two runs in the first and three more in the third. Weathers, Adryane Atkins, Dakota Champagne, and Brock Erculiani all had two hits in the game.
The bi-district series win pushes FHS into the Class 6A area playoffs versus Arlington Martin. The three-game set begins Friday at 7:00 p.m. Game two is Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with game three to follow if needed. All games will be played at Hoskins Field in Wichita Falls.
