Tiger Softball Run Rules Monterey, Now 4-1 in District

frenship_tiger_pawFrenship opened up the second half of District 2-6A play by scoring in every inning and making quick work of Monterey in a 13-3 five-inning run-rule victory Friday in Wolfforth.

Brea Varnell led the Tigers at the plate with a 3-hit performance.  Haley Thomack added two hits on the night, and Addison Jobe reached base four times. Jobe’s scored two runs on the night and sparked the Tigers in the first inning with a two-run double.

Frenship added four runs in the second courtesy an RBI single by McKaley Johnson, an RBI single by K’Leigh Arredondo, and a sacrifice fly by Anna Williams.

The Tigers ended the game by scoring five runs in the fifth. Both Williams and Sam Clark had two-run doubles in the frame.

Clark got the win in the pitching circle for Frenship. She gave up three runs on five hits while striking out three in a complete-game performance.

Frenship is now 18-4 on the year and 4-1 in district. The Tigers travel to Amarillo on Tuesday for an afternoon tilt with Tascosa.  First pitch is set for 4:30. They return home Friday hosting a non-district matchup versus Lubbock Cooper at 6:30.
