It’s time to tighten up the shoelaces as a new season of Frenship Tiger basketball closes in on opening tipoff for 2015-16.
The Frenship girls will look to build on a great first season under coach Trent Hilliard in 2014-15. The Tigers finished 20-12 and made the state playoffs in the program’s first year in Class 6A. Their season begins Tuesday, November 10 on the road at Seminole before hosting Levelland on Saturday, November 14. The team will also host their annual Frenship Tournament the weekend of November 19-21 at the Tiger Pit, and District 2-6A play begins January 12.
The Frenship boys are also under second-year leadership of head coach Paul Page. Last season, the Tigers started the Page era in a solid way by finishing 22-13 and making the Class 6A area playoffs. The boys tip off their season on Tuesday, November 17 at Abilene Cooper. Their first home game is Tuesday, December 1 against Palo Duro. The boys host the annual Gene Messer Shootout the weekend of December 3-5. District 2-6A play begins January 19.
