The gold trophy for the District 2-6A baseball championship is in the clear sights for Frenship but tough work on the diamond remains with two games to go. The Tigers are down to the last week of the season needing one win in their two-game set versus Midland High this week to capture another title.
FHS (10-3 district) has a one-game lead on the Bulldogs and a two-game lead on Midland Lee after last week’s two-game split with the Rebels. FHS lost Tuesday in extra innings 2-1 before bouncing back and winning 9-6 on Friday.
They will get their first chance at the title this Tuesday night in Wolfforth. It’s also senior night for the team with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The regular season finale is Friday at 4:30 in Midland.
