Tiger Band Wins First Division at Region, Set Sights on Area Contest

Congratulations to the Frenship High School Tiger Band on winning First Division awards from all three judges at the Region 16 UIL contest held Saturday, October 22 at Lowrey Field in Lubbock. This year’s accomplishment marks the nineteenth consecutive First Division award for the Tiger Band.

The Tiger Band now advances to compete in the Area A contest this Saturday, October 29 at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.

Frenship will compete against Amarillo Tascosa, San Angelo Central, Midland High, Midland Lee, Odessa Permian, Odessa High, Abilene High, El Paso Coronado, El Paso Americas, El Paso Montwood, El Paso Eastwood, El Paso El Dorado, El Paso Franklin and El Paso Socorro.

The top bands from this Saturday’s Area A contest qualify for the Texas State Marching contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Tuesday-Wednesday, November 8-9.
