The Wolfforth Public Library’s Summer Reading Program has begun and lots of great activities are planned for children of all ages. This year’s theme “Every Hero Has A Story” includes lots of new incentives and prizes for participants. Check out everything happening at the Wolfforth Library this summer!
Annual summer reading contest will begin May 28th and continue through July 27th. Readers compete by grade level for trophies, t-shirts, and other prizes.
Reading contest is open to students entering KG through 6th grades for the 2015-2016 school year.
Teen Program is open to students entering 7th grade – 12th grades for the 2015-2016 school year.
June 10th @ 10am Miss Texas Collegiate, Kylie Boyd will be at the Library
reading to the children. She will also be sharing her anti-bullying campaign!
July 8th from 9am – 1pm The TAME Trailblazer, a one-of-a-kind science
museum on wheels. This exciting hands-on exhibit will teach children about
energy, space, weather, biotechnology, and aerodynamics. We have won a visit
from the trailblazer thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Tocker Foundation.
July 15th @ 10am Amazing, funny, and witty children’s author and pilot, Nancy
Robinson Master will be hosting story time! Ms. Nancy promises that she will
“turn all your downs into ups!” You do not want to miss this!
July 22nd @ 10am Durham and Mrs. Judy will host a back to school story hour
about bus safety and back to school! Bring your little ones for a fantastic story
time that will get them excited about going back to school.
TEENS are encouraged to apply to be a volunteer this summer! We are looking
for 5-6 volunteers to help with story hours, organizing the children’s room, and
helping with the end of summer party. Come pick up a volunteer form today!
(The librarian must approve all volunteers.)
Preschool Story and Craft/Activity Time will be held every Wednesday
morning beginning at 10:00 AM, June 4th through August 13th
Every Friday at NOON – the library will show a “Super Hero” movie in the
community room. Bring lunch for your family, relax for a couple of hours,
and enjoy a family friendly movie. Candy and popcorn will be available for
purchase in the library. Funds from snack sales will go towards purchasing
new furniture for the kid’s room!
