To raise money for Children’s Miracle Network, students at Heritage Middle School challenged KCBD sports director Pete Christy to a Human Hamster Ball Race on Friday, January 30. Students bought raffle tickets for a chance to be drawn to compete against Christy and his team included Mix 100’s Kaden. Spoil Me Rotten graciously donated the use of the hamster balls for the fundraising event!
Also during the pep rally teachers Jeremy Wagner, Kristin Oliver and Sarah Wilson were placed in HMS “jail”. Students donated money all week to place a teacher from each grade level in “jail”; the teacher with the most money raised was arrested on Friday.
HMS parents, students and staff raised over $3,500 that will be donated to University Medical Center’s Children’s Miracle Network to continue research, and the purchasing of life saving equipment to help kids right here on the South Plains. Stay tuned to find out if the students of HMS Beat Pete or if HMS Got Beat by Pete!
