Girl Scout Troop 6471 made it their mission to help out the City of Wolfforth Library. On May 16, the troop consisting of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade girls presented the Library with over 600 new and gently used books. The girls were responsible for gathering books to donate and many said they talked to family and friends, dug through garage sale items and even placed a donation box at a local yogurt shop. This year the troop far surpassed their cookie sale goal of 800 boxes of cookies and sold 4300 boxes of girls scout cookies. A portion of the money they made on those cookie sales went towards the purchase of some new children’s favorite books for the library.
The girls were honored with a cookie, cupcake and lemonade reception at the Library and enjoyed hearing from Head Librarian Kim Brown about what all the City Library has to offer this summer for kids and families. The Library staff was very thankful for the girls’ hard work and praised their efforts in collecting so many books that their patrons will enjoy.
A BIG THANK YOU to Girl Scout Troop 6471 and congratulations on earning your Community Service Badge!
