Frenship ISD to Host 5th Annual West Texas Innovation Summit

West Texas Innovation Summit

(Wolfforth, TX) – Frenship Independent School District will host nearly 1,000 educators on Thursday, August 15th for the fifth annual West Texas Innovation Summit focused on ‘Teachers Teaching Teachers’, a collaboration and exchange of ideas to enhance their classroom instruction and experience.

This year’s theme of ‘Power Up’ is centered around helping teachers prepare for every aspect of the school year and how to incorporate instructional technologies and resources. Approximately 90 presenters will give more than 130 sessions on various topics ranging from classroom management to educational technology solutions.

“It’s important to remember that we ask teachers to do a very difficult job. They need opportunities to be inspired and reminded they’re making a difference that lasts a lifetime,” said Keith Patrick, Frenship ISD Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “This unique opportunity affords Frenship instructional staff a chance to learn from each other in a large-scale, conference setting how to integrate new teaching techniques and technology in new and exciting ways.”

During the summit, attendees will hear from keynote speaker Manny Scott, an original Freedom Writer whose story is told in part in the 2007 hit movie, Freedom Writers. Through his work, Scott has energized almost two million leaders, educators, volunteers and students worldwide with his authentic, inspiring messages of hope.
