HDI is a group of support professionals that have come together to form a community that is 150,000 members strong built by industry peers and leaders. HDI provides resources and best practices, and has remained the source for professional development in the technology community. Texas has five local area chapters, including the West Texas chapter.

Area chapters of HDI recognize outstanding performance annually by awarding the Desktop Support Technician of the Year and Analyst of the Year for their areas of the state. Winners are selected from peer nominations that are scored by other state chapters.
