FRENSHIP HIGH SCHOOL HEAD FOOTBALL COACH RECEIVES REGIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

The THSCA’s new regional awards recognize coaches across the state of Texas for their exemplary achievements in the 2022-2023 UIL Football season. “THSCA is very passionate about the celebration of our coaches. Creating the Coach of the Year awards is an amazing opportunity to highlight the elite coaches across Texas,” said Joe Martin, the Executive Director of the THSCA.

Coach Northcutt was named the Frenship High School Head Football Coach in 2017. Under his leadership, several of his coaching staff and players have received statewide recognitions and more than 15 students have signed their letters of intent to continue playing football at the collegiate level.

In addition to this regional award, Coach Northcutt was recently voted District 2–6A Football Coach of the Year by his peers, and his coaching staff was named the District 2–6A Football Staff of the Year.

This year’s football season was marked by success with one of the most prolific offenses in Tiger football history, setting five new single game records, five new season records, and one career record.  The team went 9-3, coming out as the District 2-6A Champions, and Bi-District Champions after securing the win against Eastlake 35-17. This was the first time the Tigers advanced to the area round playoffs since 2014.

Coach Northcutt and the other regional Coaches of the Year have he opportunity to win the overall THSCA Football Coach of the Year.
