Congratulations to the Frenship Choir students for being selected for All-State Choir and the Varsity Chorale for being invited to perform the 2022 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention held in San Antonio, February 9-12, 2022.
Students chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. The students chosen for All-State through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. The All-State will close out the TMEA Convention with a featured performance.
The students selected for the prestigious honor are;
Lynnli Wiseman (12), Ashleah Edwards (11), Madilyn Sallee (10), Hailey Williams (12), Blair Collier (11), Alexa Conner (12), and Drew Cox (9)
This is Madilyn Sallee’s second year as a member of an All-State organization. This is Lynnli Wiseman’s third year as a member of an All-State organization.
All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,875 students are selected through a process that begins with over 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles. Only the top 2.6% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians
In addition, the Frenship High School Varsity Chorale, under the direction of Amy Moss, has been invited to perform for the at the convention. Ensembles invited by TMEA demonstrate the highest level of achievement in music education. It is only through intense dedication and collaboration of every student and director involved that an ensemble is honored in this way.
Frenship High School Varsity Chorale is an auditioned ensemble of 65 sophomore through senior students. With a long history of success, Varsity Chorale consistently receives Sweepstakes ratings at UIL. Ensemble members are regularly named to TMEA All State Choirs, awarded Outstanding Performer at TSSEC, and cast in lead roles for the award-winning Frenship Fine Arts Musicals.
Frenship Varsity Chorale will perform their own featured concert at TMEA on Friday, February 11 at 7:30 pm in the Hemisfair Ballroom at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The ensemble will perform a preview concert for local audiences at the Buddy Holly Crickets Theatre in tandem with TTU University Choir on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Tickets are free to the public.
