Frenship Football Beats Odessa High on Senior Night 24-21

ae8b0256Forty-three Frenship High seniors made certain that their final regular season home game would be a memorable one with a hard fought 24-21 victory against Odessa High Friday night.

With the Bronchos driving in the fourth quarter trying to take the lead, Tiger defensive seniors Jacob Piel, Asher Robinson, Nate Wilson and others came up with big stops against Odessa’s offense. The late defensive push sealed the game that saw six different lead changes between the teams.

Frenship took the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter with a 12-play, 92-yard drive capped off by a one yard touchdown run by Chandler Brand.

Scooter Garcia carried the offensive load for the Tigers with 194 yards rushing and a touchdown. Brand added two rushing scores along with 125 yards passing.

With the win, Frenship sits at 4-5 overall and 2-3 in District 2-6A. The Tigers need a win in their final regular season game at Midland Lee to qualify for the playoffs.

The game between the Tigers and Rebels is Friday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland.
