Frenship Boys Basketball Hosting Gene Messer Shootout This Weekend

The week after Thanksgiving in Wolfforth means 16 boys’ basketball teams from across Texas will come together for the annual Gene Messer Shootout Thursday through Saturday at Frenship High School.

This year’s Gene Messer Shootout field may cover the largest geographic area in the tournament’s history. Duncanville, Rockwall, and Sherman will make their way to Wolfforth from the DFW area, the Texas panhandle is represented by Dumas, and teams from El Paso head from the west.

Frenship also welcomes Coronado, Monterey, Trinity and the Lubbock Homeschool Titans as well as local squads Brownfield, Plainview and Seminole.

The Tigers begin tournament play on Thursday at 2:30 against El Paso Eastwood at the Tiger Pit. Tournament games begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
