Four Frenship High School athletes are continuing their athletic careers by signing a national letter of intent with their respective universities Wednesday morning in the Frenship High library. The Frenship athletes who are signing include:
Ronald Awatt -University of Texas at El Paso (football)
Broderick Harrell – University of Texas at El Paso (football)
Hayden Harrison – University of North Texas (football)
Tresten Kennard – Odessa College (baseball)
Awatt, a three-year letterman, was named the District 2-6A Offensive Player of the Year in 2015 after rushing for 2,045 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season. He was also named Class 6A All-State honorable mention at running back.
Harrison, also a three-year letterman, led the Tiger defense with 151 tackles and added three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. He was a First Team All-District selection and Second Team All-State selection at linebacker.
Harrell, also a three-year letterman, led the Tiger secondary with 61 tackles and 20 passes defended. He also caught 13 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns at receiver. He was named District 2-6A Second Team All-District as a cornerback.
Kennard, already a two-year letterman on the Tiger baseball team, hit .404 with two home runs and 36 runs batted in 2015. He was named First Team All-District 2-6A as a third baseman.
