Monday night during their monthly meeting, The Frenship ISD Board of Trustees appointed Jamey Phillips to fill the current vacancy on the board left after the resignation of Jolyn Wilkins in October.
Phillips was approved by unanimous vote and will complete the remaining term in Place 6 through May 2016.
Phillips is a partner in the law firm Phillips & McLaren, LLP. She graduated with a BS in Agricultural Economics from Texas Tech University and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Texas Tech School of Law.
Phillips has been involved in many civic and professional organizations in the Lubbock community during her professional career. She serves as a member and past chair of the Lubbock County Hospital District Board of Managers, the National College Baseball Hall of Fame Executive Committee and the Frenship Foundation for Leadership. She is also a past member of the Texas FFA Board of Directors and has served on the FISD Boards of PTA’s for four different FISD campuses.
Phillips and her husband Ronald, University Counsel at Texas Tech, have been married 23 years and have 4 sons – Austin, who is a 9th grader at Frenship High School, Grant and Gavin, 6th graders at Terra Vista Middle School and Holden, a 3rd grader at Legacy Elementary.
