Tremendous Season Comes to a Close for FHS Girls Soccer Team

Sometimes the breaks just don’t go your way. Unfortunately, the Frenship girls soccer team came up one break short last Friday in the regional quarterfinals.

After putting pressure on Keller for an entire afternoon and outshooting their opponent 22-7 through regulation and overtime, the Tigers still found themselves in a scoreless tie after regulation and overtime.

The Lady Indians finally broke through in the sudden death penalty kick period and outscored FHS 4-2 to beat the Tigers.

The loss ends another tremendous season for FHS who finishes with a record of 22-3-1.

“This group has represented Frenship the way we expect with great effort, humility and pride,” said FHS head coach Gery Joy. “This was a highly tested group that played a great schedule. FHS was ranked sixth in Region I and number 11 in the state. This team did not give up a goal in the playoffs and finished 10-0 in district conceding only two goals.”
