The Frenship softball team took their show on the road for the first time in 2019 to play some of the best teams from the Texas hill country at the Brittany Tuck Memorial Tournament in Dripping Springs. Here’s a look at  the weekend results for the Tigers:

FRENSHIP 8, CEDAR PARK VISTA RIDGE 4 (Thursday): Torrey Hogan started the tourney off with a solo home run in the first inning. FHS added four more runs in the second thanks to RBI hits from Alyssa Rundell, Kyla Merritt and Shay Hopkins. Rundell led the way with two hits in the game, and Angelica Abila added a home run in the game. Hogan earned the pitching win with seven strike outs in five innings.

FORT WORTH BOSWELL 7, FRENSHIP 2 (Thursday): FHS totaled seven hits including two-hit games from Torrey Hogan, Angelica Abila and Caroline Kerr, but it wasn’t enough as Boswell handed the Tigers their first loss of the season.

CEDAR PARK 12, FRENSHIP 5 (Friday): Cedar Park scored seven runs in the second inning which proved to be enough to beat the Tigers. FHS was led by Qo’be Harvest who was 3-for-3 batting including a home run.

BARBERS HILL 8, FRENSHIP 2 (Friday): Angelica Abila hit a solo home run in the third inning, but FHS fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Barbers Hills on Friday.

FRENSHIP 13, PILOT POINT 3 (Saturday): The Tigers came out strong on the tournament’s final day by scoring eight runs in the first inning in a 13-3 blowout of Pilot Point. Caroline Kerr and Angelica Abila each hit a home run while teammates Maya Mongelli and Claudia Kerr added RBI hits in the inning. Kyla Merritt, Mongelli, Qo’be Harvest, and Alyssa Rundell all had multiple hits in the game. Mongelli was the winning pitcher after pitching four innings and striking out four.

LAKE TRAVIS 4, FRENSHIP 3 (Saturday): Even though FHS outhit their opponent 7-4, Lake Travis managed to score all four of its runs in the fourth inning to claim the win. Torrey Hogan pitched a great game for FHS with eight strikeouts. Alyssa Rundell and Angelica Abila had two hits apiece to lead the Tiger offense.
