Each year the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals selects outstanding principals and assistant principals from each of the twenty TASSP regions. Selections are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership in secondary education. The TASSP Principal Image Committee reviews the applications and selects the finalists. Finalists are interviewed by members of the Principal Image Committee and following the interview process, the Texas winners are announced. (source: tassp.org)

The NGC staff celebrated with a breakfast to honor Simpson. He will represent Region 17 in the running for State Principal of the Year in the fall of 2018.
“I’m honored to be a part of a community that believes in the same things,” said Simpson. “I lead in a way that I think is going to benefit kids most – changing lives in a positive matter.”
