Frenship NJHS Students Deliver Easter Baskets to Patients at UMC

It’s become a great tradition for the student members of Frenship’s Junior National Honor Society, and it’s a tradition that spreads cheer during this holiday season.

For the sixth year in a row, FISD middle school students representing all three NJHS organization prepared 30 Easter baskets for children currently admitted as patients in the pediatrics unit at University Medical Center The baskets included age appropriate games and activities, toys and goodies for any child ranging from birth to 18 years old.

“All three campuses have been participating with this for six years now and we enjoy that this is a service project we can all participate together with and that it gives back to our local hospital,” said Kim Thomson, NJHS sponsor at Heritage Middle School.

After the students finished delivery, they were given a tour of UMC and the NICU facilities where they were able to see how their Miracle Pennies donations from earlier this year benefit the hospital.
