Congratulations to Frenship High School senior pole vaulter Sarah Tackitt who signed a national letter of intent with Texas Tech University. The signing took place Thursday morning in front of family and friends at the FHS library.
Tackitt is a three-year letter winner and three-time district champion for Frenship in the pole vault. She qualified for the UIL State Track and Field Championships in 2018 and ended her milestone season by clearing 12 feet, 6 inches to claim fifth place.
Her 12-6 vault at the state meet is the current school record, a vault she accomplished at previous meets as well. Last season, Tackitt set a new pole vault school record four different times.
Tackitt claimed numerous individual titles during the 2018 season including the City Bank Tiger Relays, the District 2-6A Championships, and the Area 1-2 Track and Field Meet.
She earned all-state recognition in 2018 from the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association and the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
