Dear Frenship Parents, Students, Staff and Community:
Frenship is committed to developing every child into thoughtful leaders and conscientious citizens of the local and global communities. We are so appreciative of the many ways you support Frenship ISD. Our students are given the opportunity to learn and grow into successful, responsible adults because you are generous with your time, talent and financial resources.
Our enrollment is more than 9,600 students which is an increase of two to three percent this year. This mirrors the growth we have seen over the past several years. In August, along with the beautiful, inquisitive faces of new students, we opened a new facility — the FHS Ninth Grade Center — as part of the 2014 bond election. Our ninth grade students are enjoying the brand new facility that is located across the street from the main Frenship High School campus. This year we have approximately 750 ninth grade students, so we are very thankful these students have their own facility in which to launch their high school experience. The addition of the FHS Ninth Grade Center has helped us alleviate some of the crowding in the halls and classrooms of Frenship High School.
The opening of the FHS Ninth Grade Center marks the successful completion of all the major construction projects from the 2014 bond election. Some of the other completed 2014 bond projects include:
- Frenship High School renovations
- Soccer complex
- District-wide security enhancements
- Upland Heights Elementary
- Band practice field (turf and lighting)
In addition, we are updating technology devices, purchasing additional research-based instructional resources, and replacing obsolete instructional equipment to ensure our students have every opportunity to excel. Once again, it was your approval of the new tax rate (shifting two cents from the Interest and Sinking tax rate to our Maintenance and Operations tax rate). Frenship is a destination district because we have amazingly talented students, dedicated parents and highly-skilled teachers and staff who are focused on equipping students for the future.
Again, thank you for helping us continue our rich tradition of excellence here at Frenship.
