FISD Junior Honor Society Delivers Easter Baskets to Children’s Hospital

Frenship students representing the National Junior Honor Society from all three FISD middle school campuses joined forces Thursday to deliver Easter baskets to current pediatric patients at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Each middle school campus – Frenship Middle School, Heritage Middle School, and Terra Vista Middle School – donated 10 baskets each to the group’s service project. The baskets were created for patients that ranged in age anywhere from birth to 18 years of age with an assortment of goodies ranging from activity books and age appropriate toys and games.

Eighteen NJHS students represented FISD on Thursday’s endeavor. Along with visiting patients and delivering goodies, the students received a tour of UMC’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Children’s Hospital. It was especially exciting for the students to see the Children’s Hospital after leading campus fund raising efforts through the Miracle Pennies program in February.

The NJHS sponsors at the FISD middle school campuses include Dwenette Stevenson (FMS), Janet Gruner (TVMS), Kim Thomson (HMS), and Kristy Jones (HMS). Thank you to everyone who participated in Thursday’s donation.
