FISD Bond Projects Moving Quickly During Warm February Weather

The favorable February weather has helped the current major projects continue to move forward at a great pace. Below are updates from the current bond projects that are part of the $85.2 million approved bond that passed in May 2014.


DSC_0479Upland Heights Elementary School (located at 10020 Upland Avenue):

The installation of face brick is at eighty-five completion. Framing of the interior walls and HVAC ductwork is complete. Installation of the interior sheetrock installation continues, and the tape and bed process has begun. Crews have also started cleaning the grounds area in preparation for flatwork installation.

Construction work at Upland Heights is well on schedule for the campus to open for business in August 2016.


DSC_0459Frenship High School Renovations:

The new Culinary Arts area in the front hallway of Frenship High continues to progress. Currently, crews have started the installation of flooring. Plumbing work in the kitchen area is wrapping up and will finalize with equipment delivery and installation. The only remaining items include those items on the punch list.

The new renovations at Frenship High School continue to make the campus a tremendous learning environment for students.


DSC_0443Frenship High Ninth Grade Center:

The dirt work for the building pad is complete. Construction crews are currently working on the parking areas around the building. Concrete work is scheduled to begin soon.

The FHS Ninth Grade Center is scheduled to open in August 2017.
