frenship_F_logoFrenship used the long ball to make short work of Tascosa Tuesday in Amarillo. The Tigers blasted four home runs en route to their largest blowout of the season, beating the Lady Rebels 23-1 in five innings.

Brea Varnell led the hit parade by going 3-for-5 with two home runs and five runs batted in. Addison Jobe and McKaley Johnson added deep flies in the game as well. Jobe and Clarissa Gonzales each had four RBI Tuesday, and K’Leigh Arredondo added two hits.

Frenship pulled away early with five runs in the first inning. K’Leigh Arredondo had an RBI single, Clarissa Gonzales followed with a two-run single, and Alyssa Bruce added an RBI single.

The home run parade started in the seven-run fourth courtesy of Varnell’s first of two home runs. The Tigers put up seven more in the fifth with the other three round trippers.

Gonzales got the win in the circle. She gave one run on the hits while striking out seven in four innings.

Frenship is now 19-4 on the year and 5-1 in district. The Tigers host Lubbock Cooper in a non-district contest Friday at 6:30.
